Let’s start with your address.

One place to prepare your new home.

Your search goes to Clark County’s public address service. We do not save the address in this guide or include it in analytics. The USPS location link shares only your ZIP code when you click it. You’ll confirm the property before viewing a plan.

Local details make the difference

One valley.
Different utility providers.

The city on your mailing address is not always the jurisdiction serving your home. Here’s where to start for water and sewer.

01 · LAS VEGAS

City of
Las Vegas

Start with LVVWD for water and the City of Las Vegas for sewer billing. Confirm the actual service address.

02 · HENDERSON

City of
Henderson

City Utility Services is the starting point for water and sewer. Confirm trash service with Republic Services.

03 · NORTH LAS VEGAS

North
Las Vegas

Start with the city residential utility application. Confirm water, sewer, trash billing, and pickup details.

04 · CLARK COUNTY

Beyond
city limits

In the valley, start with LVVWD for water and the Water Reclamation District for sewer. Check well and septic exceptions.

Water boundaries can differ from city boundaries. Use SNWA’s address-based water-provider finder ↗ to confirm the water provider. This guide covers the Las Vegas Valley; rural communities and other cities need separate provider checks.

Before the boxes arrive

Small details.
A smoother first day.

Get the essentials lined up before you take possession. A planned handoff keeps your attention where it belongs: settling into your home.

  • 01
Coordinate the handoff.Confirm possession and service dates with your agent, seller, and closing team.
  • 02
Keep the confirmations.Save provider confirmation numbers privately. A checked box is your reminder, not proof from a provider.
  • 03
Know the home’s systems.Ask for mailbox keys, HOA contacts, shutoff locations, and any well, septic, or solar handoff records.

For mailbox keys, confirm whether USPS or your HOA/property manager maintains the mailbox, and which office serves your address. A nearby Post Office is a starting point. For immediate danger, call 911. If you suspect a gas leak, leave the area and call 911 and Southwest Gas at 877-860-6020 from a safe location.

Your closing-week
questions, answered.

More preparation: our buyer guide, home cost calculators, and checking property records.

How do I set up utilities when buying a home in Las Vegas?

Confirm the date you take possession, identify the property’s jurisdiction, and contact the responsible providers. Arrange electricity, water, sewer billing, trash, natural gas if equipped, and internet. Save confirmations and coordinate the seller’s stop dates with your closing team.

Does a Las Vegas mailing address mean City of Las Vegas utilities?

No. A Las Vegas mailing address may be in the city or unincorporated Clark County. The finder checks a selected county address record against city boundaries. Utility service boundaries and HOA arrangements still need confirmation with each provider.

When should I arrange utilities before closing?

Start about one to two weeks before possession, and earlier if installation or technician access is needed. Confirm the provider’s actual lead time. Schedule service for your agreed possession date, which may differ from your closing date.

What information should I have ready?

Have the complete service address and unit, possession date, contact information, identification, and the payment method requested by the provider. Enter identification and payment information only on the provider’s official site. Keep confirmation and account numbers in your private closing records.

Can this guide confirm internet coverage or open my accounts?

The guide links to official providers so you can check availability and arrange service. It does not open accounts, book appointments, or confirm internet coverage. Check each provider at the exact address.

What if my home has a well, septic system, or HOA-managed utilities?

Use the well and septic options in your plan. Get maintenance records and service contacts from the seller. For a condo or HOA, ask which utilities are included in dues and which accounts you must open separately.

Is my address saved or shared?

The address you submit is sent to Clark County’s public lookup service to locate the property. This guide does not save it in browser storage, place it in the page URL, or include it in its analytics events. Checklist progress stays on this page until you leave or change properties. A copied, downloaded, or printed plan includes the selected address. Clicking the USPS location link sends only your ZIP code, or the browsed city, to USPS to find nearby offices.

Sources, lookup details & scope

The finder uses Clark County’s address locator and city-boundary layer. It does not query utility accounts or guarantee service coverage. Suggested dates are preparation reminders; provider lead times vary.

Provider contact information reviewed October 8, 2026. Availability, portals, fees, deposits, and timing can change. For municipal exceptions, condos, HOA-managed services, wells, septic, propane, or solar, confirm the handoff with the seller and responsible provider. This is general home-setup information.
